Bat Trapping and Removal Companies in Alief

Getting rid of bats in your attic can be tricky and time consuming but it can be done. Trapping and removal of a bat in Texas can be tricky and should never be attempted if the bat was found in a room where people were sleeping. Never seal your home without performing an exclusion! While at your property, Alief bat control will identify the entry points bats are using to access your home and make recommendations to exclude them permanently. The males roost alone in solitary areas, such as trees. Nuisance bats suspected of having rabies should always be left for professionals to remove.

HOW DO I GET RID OF BATS FROM AN ATTIC? Bat removal is not a simple task. This could even be areas such as between seat cushions, underneath entertainment centers, behind cabinets, or other areas that allow the bat to be virtually invisible. There is no effective bat repellent for example that can do the job easily. The proper way to get rid of them is to exclude the colony – seal off 100% of possible secondary entry points on the home and remove all of the bats from the building safely.  Good question, but no. It is often very challenging, and it must be done just the right way. An amateur attempt, by someone with no experience, or worse, a pest control company that uses bat poison, could result in disaster – dead, rotting bats, and bats swarming throughout the walls and the home. Some are packaged as bat removal products while some people try a wider range repellent.

Are bats attracted to the light?

  • What do you do if there's a bat in your house?

  • Can you get rabies from bat guano?

  • What will repel bats?

Alas, for a variety of important reasons, no repellents work. It's a very challenging scenario, but one that I have solved dozens of times. HOW THEY GOT INSIDE: Bats can squeeze through extremely small gaps - 3/8 of an inch. This makes them look much bigger, especially if one is flying around inside your home. Good question, but no. Your attic is much better. The observation night can be at any time during the spring, summer, or fall. During these months the bats in your attic are either delivering their baby or taking care of the flightless pup. As said before, guano can carry histoplasmosis spores which are very dangerous to your health when breathed in. They are neither strong enough nor are they long-lasting enough to keep bats at bay. Above are some photos I've taken at various bat jobs.

This allows us to determine what equipment would be necessary for an exclusion and repair program. Okay, those are the basics! But it's very important for you to understand that a bat removal job is by no means simple. Excluding the mother bats during that period would create a problem even worse than having the bats in your attic, as the young bats would die without their mother to feed and care for them. During these months the bats in your attic are either delivering their baby or taking care of the flightless pup. For example, many raccoons are rabid, but they don't pass the rabies on to humans. If it's a colony of bats living in a building, they crawl to the edge, and fly out. Attach it to create a funnel, which will guide the bats out. Their fragile ability to reproduce and their importance to the ecosystem is why it’s important that these animals aren’t harmed senselessly and is the reason they are usually protected. If the temperature drops rapidly to a level much below about 45 degrees where the bats are hibernating (attic, etc), they will attempt to locate an area inside the home or building with more favorable temperatures. If the spray can’t be found then a disinfectant or in a ‘worse-case’ scenario- you can use water for keeping dust and bacteria from travelling into the air so easily. I have more in-depth info below, but you may just want to click any of the above links to answer your specific questions.

In addition to the above reasons one of the biggest reasons to not use poison is the fact it is inhumane. Read about what to do if you are bitten by a bat. None of these animals are actually blind, but they do use echolocation in order to aid in navigation on the wing. Bats do not chew their way into structures! They only use gaps and holes that already exist, and locate them by sensing air currents and temperature. We recently (Aug/05) added a HEPA-vac to our equipment, and are now able to offer attic or other clean-outs. They are all insectivorous, catching insects on the wing. The question becomes, how do you go about doing that? If you are not exactly sure where the bat went you have some work ahead of you. Often people with histoplasmosis don’t realize they are suffering from the disease because the symptoms look quite a bit like flu symptoms. They are going to locate a new roost site in the area anyway, so it makes no sense to haul them away first. What is the bat maternity season? Why can't I remove the bats in the summer? These colonies are composed primarily of females.
